The inability as lawyers to maintain professional distance has rubbished the rule of law in Nigeria. It is this same inability to maintain professional distance from the dust of partisan politics that has beclouded our visions to be objective and we now call black white.
That is what is affecting the intergrity of the profession. What do we gain if our lawyers cannot distance themselves to show the light for others to follow. By our training lawyers are leading light. Shine in darkness. For the rule of law to flourish lawyers must lead as light not back hand professionals.
